I just got a $700 order from Mouser with free shippings and there
were no brokerage charges.
Mouser said they were included.
I used to get parts from Mouser using their flat rate Fedex
International Priority service which included brokerage and was $25
There will always be taxes and duties due if you are in Canada but
that is the same for Digikey as well.
Digikey actually seems more expensive now for many things compared to
Mouser now that M have CND pricing.
Mouser is still the best source for synth building essentials like
resistors, pots, trimmers, jacks, connectors hands down in cost vs quality.
Digikey is better for many things like ICs, uC and DACs although
Mouser can be good for garden variety opamps like NJM4558s
Electro-Sonic sucks by comparison but they are great for hookup wire,
transformers and banana jacks and banana cables.
Their Web site is abysmal and they should fire their IT guy.
They do sell Hammond 80VA toroids for $60 CND. Mouser and Digikey
sells them for 25% more and shipping them is costly as they are overweight.
Allied Electronics is good for a few things and you can often
negotiate the price with them. Shipping to Canada is cheap with Allied.
