Not strictly true. If the body of the regulator is at GROUND potential as is 
the case with many then being connected to the body gives additional 
heatsinking. If the bodies of the regulators are not at GROUND then they 
should have been mechanically insulated in the original build and shouldn't 
require the user to do additional work
