[sdiy] Have you guys already used this ?

I design and assemble circuits for a living and wouldn't consider boards
with lots of SMT parts without a reflow oven. However, to make it useful
you will need a solder paste dispenser and compressor to drive it (~£250).
If you have the paste dispenser you can also make use of a hot air rework
station to do the reflow bit, I got one from china for £80 which does the
job. I now find it *much* easier to assemble and rework SMD boards than
through hole ones. Consider removing a 20 pin DIL, it's a batch! Removing a
20 pin SOIC with an air gun is easy, repaste with the dispenser and heat up
again, job done. It's a big investment in kit, and I could only justify it
because I need it to do my job, however it means that my DIY projects can
now be all surface mount, super compact and getting the parts is easier and
often cheaper. George
