If its once in a while SMT parts:I would solder it by hand with a fine
solder.

Not that difficult ..it's all practice . But a good visual aid is of
importance. (3x-4x Lens or Microscope)
Just try it. Learn on youtube how others solder /desolder . There is
also horrible soldering versions out there , but hey... . You get the
hang of it.:)

I instantly fell in love with 0805s SOICs and TQFPs .I hate BGAs,
PLCCs for some reason. I can fit way more parts on a little PCB .
Troubleshooting and desoldering is a little messy. :)
And the best part is less drilling and you could have parts on top and
bottom.
