[sdiy] Converting a DC adapter to AC only...?

Gil,
The reason for the pedal only requiring an AC voltage is almost
certainly because
there is a DC regulator inside the pedal to convert the "raw" AC to a
DC operating
voltage. Most pedals don't have this onboard regulator so the AC to DC
convertion
and regulation is done in the power supply. Some gear will use a raw
AC supply
and DC regulators on each of the PCB's inside. Theres nothing complex
about it.
