A DC output adaptor has an AC transformer that goes to a diode bridge
(usually it's a bridge) that does the rectifying, then there is a big ass
electrolytic cap to filter.
If you rip out everything but the transformer, you get your AC.
But if you are in the USA, I would just BUY an AC adaptor, from
www.jameco.com
