[sdiy] Converting a DC adapter to AC only...?

Usually it's just fine and dandy.  Normally there is plenty of headroom 
for heat dissipation for an extra volt or so.  But watch it.  Some high 
current rated supplies will soak down when you load them to the rated 
voltage but if you run them on a circuit that doesn't load much, they 
might have 20V and that could bake something. -Bob
