This thread is splitting into two threads plus private mail, making it
a mess, especially in this damn hierarchical Gmail system. Hopefully
this post will be seen by all.
I'll give another try at measuring what's coming off of the inverter
with it disconnected, but as per my other post, that might not be
possible if it's going to cause a continuous spark to my scope probe
tip, which made it impossible to lock the scope to the signal and view
it earlier. I'll see how that goes.
As per Bob W., yes, it's glitches in the backlight that appeared to be
causing the LCD overlay to go out. I don't have schematics for any of
it. But there's not much there. I'm just trying to figure out if the
problem is the backlight itself or the power going to it.
And thanks for the possible sources to buy replacement parts. I'll
probe around some more and see if I can determine if the AC power is
good or bad.
This unit hasn't had all that much use. I've only really used it as a
Midi Keyboard for use with my computer based soft synths, so if it was
the backlight, that's a pretty short lifespan.
