Voltage control provisions are usually provided with VCAs, right? (And sometimes with Vactrols.) So, perhaps we need a quad VCA that can be installed into any module that needs it. Direct-coupled, of course, and I guess they should have linear response.
Such a board could find a wide range of uses. It would make a standalone quad VC mixer, but it could also be added to another module to provide 4 "channels" of voltage control.
The circuit should be fairly simple, to keep the PCB small.
Related: Blacet just retired his quad VCA/mixer, though I see that a new module is due next year.
