The picture of the "Conventional type CCFL inverter" looks almost just
like what Kawai has built onto the side of the regular synth power
supply.
Since AC voltage is normal for the thing, then maybe it is the
backlight itself and not the power to it.
As for Google being my friend, the last time I tried to find a
potential replacement for a Roland LCD display that has a couple of
scan lines out, I was overwhelmed by a billion different types, sizes,
connector types and so on, and I finally gave up. That's what I hate
about the electronics industry, there's too damn much to sift through,
one could waste their life away.
So far I have 4 pieces of equipment that are flawed because of the LCD
or LED display not working properly. That seems to be the weak link
in gear these days.
