[sdiy] Anvil Case Foam Rubber - Where to get it?

I transport other delicate "instruments" routinely ... get sleeping
bags from WallyMart. Put one inside another. They are very cheap and
protect delicate finishes pretty well. (Then put that into a case,
obviously.) Two bags will set you back about $16. Cheap.

Peace.

Even though it seems to be a reasonable assumption that the newer formulations for the denser foams would have greater durability and longer life. But how long will the new foam last and what issues will we have to contend with when it does break down?

This way, if the foam ever begins to break down or some other unforeseen circumstance occurs, the case contents are protected. I think that a light corduroy or some type of velvety type fabric would make a really nice case liner. Perhaps even a type of terrycloth may be better suited for certain types of items.

This will offer some protection to the instruments finish in the event of some mishap. You could even waterproof the outside of the bag to add some additional form of protection.
