Yikes!  If it was not already ruined (and actually it may not be from 
the looks of the photo), acetone most likely would do it.  Acetone 
probably dissolves the foam (not good because it will want to stick 
to somewhere else) but also at least the surface of the the finish.  
I'd try a pure essential oil (eucalyptus, orange or lemon - does not 
really matter unless you have a definite preference on the smell :-) 
first, after probing a small "good" spot for possible incompatibility 
with the finish.  Using an essential oil has the advantage that it 
will literally vaporize and leave no residues (check that before, 
otherwise it is not pure enough).

Once you have the residues off, the finish will probably look dull and 
uneven.  Try light buffing with an old pantyhose and perhaps a hint 
(not more) of furniture wax.  Not polish, wax - your cabinet maker 
should have some.  He'll also have some extra fine steel wool if that 
turns out not to be sufficient.  After the steel wool, buff again 
with wax.
