At this stage it'll be powered from a 9 volt DC wall wart - I was presuming that would give me at least 200mA to play with...

The coil 'power' for the relay I gave the link to is rated in the data sheet at 16.7mA and at most points in the circuit I have at least 50mA to play with... The circuit is basically two transistors and an op-amp.

...or am I missing something?
