then snap it.
This is what I do. Two minutes or so of scoring over the same bit again
and again. Then insert the board into a vice with some MDF board to
protect the boards surfaces from the vice's jaws. Then snap off the
unwanted bit with a hearty thwack with a big wooden mallet.
File off [not indoors] the newly cut end to make a nice smooth edge.
