[sdiy] What hook-up wire to use for pots, switches & jacks?

Hi list,

I don't know if it has been a thread
before but could somebody give me
advice on what hook-up wire to use 
going from the PCB to pots, switches & jacks?
I was figuring out BELDEN 8502
(AWG-20 7/28 PVC isolation
with 0.058" outside diameter) but I kind
of think this would be too thick when
twisting groups of 3 or 4 wires together
to pots or switches..
AWG-22 instead?
What do you use?
