I've had exactly the same experience.  I needed to be careful with my 
5Pulser waveshaper, since it puts out square waves up beyond 
100kHz.  Twisting pairs with just one end grounded worked great.  Doesn't 
agree with the theory we've been hearing, though. <shrug>
