...however Midi to CV can get parameters from midi controls (+auto learn which is used for what)

Don't most MIDI sequencers have built in arpeggiators anway?
Would be quite easy to program a basic arp. in a MIDI to CV converter,
but there are some controls that would need to be accessible via the UI ...
Tempo (in the absence of a MIDI clock signal)
Note length
Arp mode, octave range, etc. (and these can be quite complex and varied)
With an arp. of any complexity there soon becomes the need for more UI
than the few buttons of your typical MIDI to CV converter. Check out
the Arpache and Arpache SX MIDI plugins in Cubase for some examples ...
