One of the references is a digital nonlinear model of an EMS ladder 
filter. The results should be applicable to pretty much any diode ladder. 
DAFX papers typically go online within a month or two of the conference 
(for free).
Don't be scared by the word "digital" in it. You typically first need a 
non-linear analog model which is then discretized, so you can probably 
just skip the latter part if you're not interested.
