I've been playing with an Avnet Spartan-3A (400Kgate) FPGA board, the little $39 one.
I'm porting my PolyDaWG/8 (8 string poly Karplus-Strong string physical model) design to this little board. So far, it seems to be working. Basic sound test - it makes noise (the kind it's supposed to)!
The FPGA on this board is about 20% smaller than the one I designed PolyDaWG/8 for, but it compiles correctly, about 60% resource useage.
I was pleasantly suprised at how little modification I had to make to the design for it to play on this board.
