Oh geez, no, they don't do anything besides driving the standardization 
of HTML, XHTML, CSS, and ECMAscript (vulgo: JavaScript).

I mean, who cares about HTML standardization if Internet Explorer will 
try to render anything remotely HTML-related into something readable, 
right?

Ever looked into what you pay for being a member of PICMG?

Or getting USB IDs?
