[sdiy] special tightening tools?

You need a box or 'tube' spanner. A bit of soft tape around the working end
(I often use elastosplast), will stop it leaving circular marks arounf the
pot nut. You can also get 'deep throated' socket wrenches, which do the job
too - I got a decent metric Chinese set in 1/4" drive for £6 in the UK
