[sdiy] Small form-factor PSU challenge!

OK folks, here's the challenge:
I want to build two Eurorack-sized cases, 6U high, each with a PSU. And
I want to be able to close them together, face to face, so that they fit
the carry-on requirement of 20cm deep. Carry-on size according to
SleazyJet is 55X40X20, and I want to maximize it!
That means the modules will be built quite flat, like the Cwejman
modules are. But it also means the PSU has to be quite thin as well. I'm
guessing I'll need 600 mA in one rack, and probably a lot less in the
other as it's only a matrix mixer. It may be even better to jumper power
over from the first case to the second, to keep the weight down. In this
case I might need more than 600 mA, I'm not sure since I haven't
measured the draw of the combined modules because they aren't all built yet.
I've thought about using Ken Stone's CGS66 power supply, but the size of
the heatsinks is an issue. I've also thought about just dropping a
PowerOne or similar ready-made PSU in there, as they seem quite thin,
and I have no huge love of building my own at any rate. Anybody have
thoughts on this? Does using the PowerOne type PSU eliminate the need
for additional regulators and the heatsinks they require?
And furthermore, if I go the PowerOne route, does anyone know a good
supplier in Germany or EU I could get one from? Also, recommended model
numbers, as the PowerOne site has tons listed, and I know there are
plenty of clones out there as well.
thx+best!
