[sdiy] drilling pcb boards...sore throat

i've been using the .022 'silver' rosin-core solder from RS. i *love*
the smell of it burning. i rarely catch any disagreeable smells,
although while it's burning up and smoke is coming up I typically blow
air on it to blow it away from my face...

should I have any concern with these fumes? i just do this in a
smallish room with central HVAC running, so no ventilation or
anything. I solder on average 8 hours a week

i already wear eye protection, having a fan may be nice but seeing as
how they are loud then i'd also have to wear ear protection to be
safe... this is starting to add up and would like to know where is
actually sensible to draw the line (before I end up getting in a
contamination suit.. only to be called away from my work 2 minutes
later which happens so frequently)
