Ear protection is always good.

I use those red/black earmuffs available in a hardware store.  Run about
$30.  I just dont like ear plugs.

Anything fairly loud and droning like that is potentially bad.  I use
hearing protection while running most any powertool these days.

Heck, I wear headphones when biasing my guitar amps these days...
