[sdiy] And yet another report on my FPGA synth project

Well, I got the note allocator running tonight, so I was actually able
to play a little tune for the first time...

I wish it had the filter...but that will have to wait.

I can see some other features I am going to have to add to the hardware
as well. I need a means of setting the volume (fixed value) for each
channel...sort of analogous to drawbars...

And like I already mentioned, a way of making sure the oscillators that
make up a voice start out with a predetermined phase shift.

And I am going to need to modify the envelope generators somehow. The
slowest time constant is just not slow enough. The rams can be 36 bits
wide...I might have to see if it is possible to do all my DSP work in
that word width. That should make it possible to have a time constant
16 times longer if I use a 16.20 representation....but all that will
have to wait.
