I like wetsuit material ( foam rubber, yes, sometimes used in mousepads )
but have also used sheet rubber which you can buy at hardware stores. Its
harder then the mousepads and thus harder on your fingers but seems more
"responsive" then the foamed stuff.
Nice thing about the wetsuit material, usually has cleanable cloth on one
side...
