Ouch: Augustiner is brewed by the privat Augustiner Brewery in Munich.
Augustiner Hell ("hell" does not mean "home of devil" but "clear") is
the best beer in Munich, but their Oktoberfest beer is not the best.

Tegernseer brewery is a part of the breweries of the State of Bavaria
(like the Hofbraeuhaus). They make great beer too, but it is not offered
at the Oktoberfest. Only breweries located in Munich are allowed to sell
beer there.

In school we had a pause from 10:30 to 10:50. While the weeks before the
start of the Oktoberfest we spent this pause over at the fair ground
whatching them build up the roundabouts and rollercoasters. One day the
workers of one roundabout invited us to do a ride because they had to
test the light show and had to have the roundabout running - so we
thought: a five minute ride is no problem. Unfortunately the roundabout
had a technical problem - it did not land again. We ran for one and a
half hour round and round and round in this roundabout which went up
completely to the upright position:

. When we came back to the classroom, the teacher looked at our more
than pale faces and didn't say anything at all. I don't think I suffered
permanent damag-ag-ag-ag-ag-ag-ages.

;-)

To keep this at least at the end ontopic. Those years I thought, that
the electronic kits which can create sirene sounds for the roundabouts,
might be modified to become a synthesizer and that would be quite cheap
solution for the instrument of my dreams. I finally ended with a Elektor
Formant kit...
