I agree with George. My scope is exactly one of those that he  
mentions: It came out of a school technology department, virtually  
untouched and cost very little - kids don't do serious electronics at  
school these days.
It's nothing fancy, just a 20MHz analogue dual trace, but it does  
very nicely for what I do (uP-based synth audio stuff).
I'm sure if I had a 500MHz Tektronix I could get used to being a snob  
too, though!
