Thanks, fellow SDIYers, for all the excellent advice! Fine-tipped Sharpie
it is! Indeed, only about a half-dozen traces (out of several hundred) were
compromised, so if it doesn't work, the fine, tinned copper wire solution
should work well.
I'm actually pleasantly surprised at how well the transfer paper did work.
I think that the problem of incomplete transfer has to do with the stiff
face of a household iron. A more pliant ironing surface would be better --
something like a sheet of industrial heating tape on a makeshift platen of
some kind. I guess I'll have to experiment a bit. I guess that's one of
the perks of having a university research lab at ones disposal! I might
even get a grad student to try it for me!
