Subject: BBC Music 5000 (circa 1985 ) Lost Recordings
This is a long shot plea for for help.
Back in the 80's in the UK I had published, on "micronet" ( a user group on
Prestel, pre-internet! ) , my renditions of Handel's Water Music and
Purcell's Trumpet Tune. These were programed in AMPLE ( a forth like
language) for the BBC Music 500 & 5000 synths made by Hybrid Technology.
Before selling all my Beeb gear I made cassette recordings of every thing I
had done just in case I came over all nostalgic later.
Needless to say I did and found to my horror that these pieces had been
taped over!
So this is the long shot, Have any of you good folk got a recording of
either of these pieces being played by the BBC Music 5000 that you could
e-mail me as an mp3 ?
I know this is a very slim chance, but you never know unless you try ;)
If you have anything for me please e-mail me at music5000 at lenshanger.co.uk
cheers!
len
