I'll say a little bit about my situation then. We started out with me doing
this sort of stuff where I was working, when the complaint was that I was
spending too much time there. :-) Then we ended up going through a bunch of
major changes over a year or two and ended up in a place that had some
serious room, and I took advantage of it, had my own office, lots of
storage, etc. Then we ended up in a really small place, where I
partitioned off a segment of one room. Then moved the junk into a business
and after a while that didn't work out. Six months later I opened my own
business, and that ran for seven years. Then it folded and I ended up with
my desk in the living room again, then in a small room we had. Then we
moved out of there into a temporary situation, I had a couple of different
accomodations going there, then into our last place where I had a room
again.

Now we dont have the space (yes, there's a basement, but it's a four-adult
household and things are really complicated for reasons I won't go into
here). My big L-shaped desk isn't any more, there's no room for the whole
thing, so I only have part of it here in the bedroom.

The last straw was bringing all those service manuals back here. Things just
got too cluttered and too crazy-making. So I went looking, found myself a
garage for rent a few blocks away from here, and have been thankfully
generating enough from selling the manuals to cover the rent on the garage,
which is where almost all of my junk is now. Dunno what I'm gonna do when
winter gets here, though.

Oh, and the time-span on the above? As of this past August, it's about 30
years. :-)
