Did you check prices if you order them through Newark, the US counterpart to
Farnell? I know that they charge a $20 handling fee per order, but after
that I think maybe after that the shipping is the same as domestic orders. I
haven't actually placed an order this way but their Help page says this:
"Supplier Direct Ship items that have a service charge indicated are coming
from our Farnell warehouse. The service charge will be $20 per order, in
lieu of a freight charge for Farnell items." Given that those sliders are
almost $5 each, if you were ordering "a ton" the extra $20 wouldn't be that
significant.
