I worked with a gov. contractor that brought some new equipment to our site
for testing. The were supposed to prove time available and reliability in
the normal work envirionment. The 90 day test started finally in May after
getting all the bugs out of the system. By June they were in serious
trouble. They ran from 7 AM to 11 PM in two shifts and then shut down to
install any required software / hardware changes. What they neglected to
check was the weather reports. By the first week of June the civilian site
manager asked me if the number of outages they had was odd. I told them no,
and it was going to get worse.

In our neck of the woods use spend June, July, and sometimes August shutting
everything electronic down for lightning almost everyday at 3 PM and go back
to work about 5 or 6 PM. Of course if it takes an hour + to get back to
work, then you are losing 3 - 4 hours out of every 14 hour equipment day.

They didn't belive me, so I had the weather people give me the numbers. It
turned out that we actually had below average storms that may.

Delay, Audio Echo, Etc.) It's a $10 US flash memory board with ADC, DAC
capability. Add a header and its ready to go.)
