Yes, I wondered why you'd want to clone the actual circuit too.  
Sample-and-hold isn't something that adds a particular quality to  
your sound, so why go for an old design and not a more modern one  
that does the same thing but better?

Obviously if you're repairing an old ARP, then it's a different  
question.
