Wondering if anyone has experience with a Moog Opus 3 or an
Attack/Decay envelope using the 4053 Multiplexer IC...
Essentially, I'd like to mod the VCF envelope to have more
'room-to-breathe' in the faster portions of its 'decay' time.
I find that the most usable range for its 'decay slider' is only
half-way to the very bottom (millimeters of range here at the bottom)
positions. It almost works like an on/off slider...I'm constantly
fighting it trying to get the right decay time - it's either too fast
or too long.
Looking at the Moog Opus 3 schematics, the VCF Envelope is made with a
couple of 4053 multiplexers. I don't understand how this envelope
works enough to mod it myself. On the schematics, it appears that the
'decay' slider is going to two different places (two different
sections of a 4053).
Perhaps the solution is as simple as reducing/increasing the resistors
on pin 2? I appreciate any help or ideas.
Chris
