This fellow did it when he built a Mankato filter. I tried it myself and it
worked. I have only tried it with the filter, don't know how well it works
for a VCO.

I'm pretty sure I recently saw a link here to somebodies website who was
assembling a tempco resistor using a SMT one, adding wire leads and then
dipping in epoxy. Can anyone refer me to that site? Thanks dave
