Cy of chipforbrains has them for almost 2 bucks a knob for a whole set
of 41 (compliment for SH5) Is there a near equiv. anyone knows of more
in the dollar each zone?
The SH-1000 after making a time consuming study of the schematic and
figuring out all their crappy abbreviations and nuances... I'm baffled
as to why they did what I'm seeing here is that the vca hold and/or adsr
switch have to be hit to enable the ADR sliders of the envelope control
section. So this disallows one from say setting a fixed envelope tab
and still having EG control on the VCF which..is absurd. WHY WHY WHY
WHY? I'm thinking of modifying it.
It would seem most logical that they would have made it so that if the
vcf adsr tab is selected that it gives, regardless of what else is/is
not hit, a vcf modulation from the eg. The diagrams with the overall
on two pages and having to trace wires as to what goes where. Well I'm
documenting it on my page as much as possible so that future people
won't have to suffer this confusion anyway.
Who was that Roland guy who said 'learn to fix' again that Lightener
referred to some years back? He's PROBABLY the guy who spawned THIS
brainchild :-) All the ADSR switch for VCF does is connect the adsr
amount travel to the VCF input mix. It's an spst switch in
implementation though all those switches have multiple connections and
could be used for more.
Anyway if anyone has ANY insight into why they did this I'd be most
appreciative. -Bob
