[sdiy] Parting out Matrix 6 and Prophet 2000

Bob, I have not and am eager to look!

I have one XK that fell victim to the '94 Northridge quake, which I
fixed up by grafting Pratt/Read keys fronts, but it's not cosmetically
perfect. Then I loaned another one to an Alex Carpani tour, without a
flight case (serves me right I guess). So between the two of them I'm
feeling the need to find a source of XK keys.

I have spare keys of the common ones (Panasonic, Pratt/Read) but the XK
is a strange one. The OB-8 uses Panasonic, but the Matrix 6 is more of
the same period as the XK.

Gene, are you aware of my sounddoctorin.com page? You might want to
check the logical links there and note what else fits the matrix 6. Is
it a good Matrix 6? The Kawai K3 keys ...one of those Kawai is OUT of
which is a bummer. Heating can allow you to remove the key weights if
you are careful on those. But keys aren't real cheap these days... but
I'm not sure what the XK uses. Not familiar with that unit. If you
have a key OUT on it my page could save you some time comparing pics to
the keys. Take global synth help link etc. you'll get it.
