My synth class piggybacks off of our senior design lab, so my students  
and I often see what the senior design teams are working on.

One of the senior design teams put together this gorgeous tube-based  
theremin (the blue LEDs under the tubes are just to look cool). I got  
to play it a for bit. It's probably the coolest senior design project  
I've ever seen.
