Sorry if this email is redundant, I didn't realize I had richtext
formatting on, and couldn't post correctly.
Anyway, I have a problem with my Realistic (Moog) MG1 that I'm hoping
to repair myself. I was working on the MG last evening, redoing the
filter input and lfo output mods I had completed a while ago, when I
accidentally sent some voltage into the 6th, output pin of U8, a
UA741CP. The thing started smoking so I immediately shut it down. I
replaced the op amp with an LM741 from radio shack (didn't have any
better ones laying around). Now it seems the keytracking does not
work on the main synth section. It works fine for the filter and the
poly section, but the main synth section just kind of plays one or two
notes, and the tune pot on the panel doesn't do much of anything
(though the tune trimmer on the board works fine). Is the LM741CN not
a direct replacement or is there a much larger problem? Admittedly
I'm a bit naive and still in the process of learning as much as I can
about analog circuitry, so if any of this seems uninformed, I
apologize.
schematics are in section 35, at this URL:
