Here is a fairly simple complete delay based around the BL3208/MN3208

There was a simpler one that I cant find that used 3 chips, I should have it
archived somewhere just cant find it.

The 3207 should also work in the same circuit, just with shorter delay time.
To just play around with BBDs and make it simpler, you could ditch the SA571
compander and just level convert in and out with opamps. That would
simplify things a bit at the cost of some sound quality.

Also a while back I scanned in the entire Matsushita book ( thanks to Harry
"Closet BBD Fanatic" Bissell ) and it does have some more detailed circuits
that could be useful for you.

BBDs arnt hard to use, but they are pretty hard to use cleanly...
