Anyone had experiencing taking apart one of these home keyboard/synths?
I've got all the screws out, and there appears to be some secret latch
or catch, and I don't want to damage this clients keyboard if at all
possible.
Any info or internal pictures would be greatly appreciated.
A bit of light reading for those who aren't familiar with the keyboards;
The Lowery/JVC home keyboards are quite interesting. They're a home
organ (large style) squeezed down into a home keyboard/domestic synth
package. As opposed to the way Yamaha and Casio went about it,
building a new home keyboard frame work and chipset and reimplementing
that across few models, they've taken the technology from their
domestic organs - the POTTS chip versions I and II, and they've
squeezed it into a home keyboard; Sometimes with Analog, sometimes PCM
drums. Some with VCF/VCA "effects" circuits for brass sounds, too.
They're interesting to tinker with if you can get them for cheap (I'll
be scanning some schematics of a few in the weeks to come), but, only
if you like tinkering with Casio and Yamaha home keyboards, really.
Circuit bendable, yes.
Serious synthesizer diy modifiable; Sort of, but, unless that's your
thing that you're passionate about already, stick with whatever it is
you enjoy tinkering with.
Thanks!
