[sdiy] CA3280 vs. SSM2164

Everyone,

I have a number of CA3280s, probably enough to build any existing design that uses them for anything I'd want.

Need to make a decision before they all really go away whether to use them or SSM2164 in my new designs. I like the fact that CA3280 has linear control, like that SSM2164 can be got in a SOIC package.

So I was wondering what other people had experienced and thoughts about.

Which makes a better VCA or filter?

Design issues with the SSM2164, from previous postings I know you can use 2 for linear control, expo control for filters...
