I still use that method to make printed circuit boards for
'quick-n-dirty' prototypes, and for 'one-offs'.  Besides
being so fast and cheap, one of its main advantages, in my
mind, is that except for the pcb blanks themselves,
everything needed is available in almost every locale,
especially now that I use the homemade etchant.
