Keep an eye out for the Atmel AT91SAM9XE series, which was just
unveiled on their web site. They'll be coming in a QFP208 package.
Not easy, but still DIY friendly in the
I-don't-have-to-send-it-out-to-be-attached way. The SAM9XE series is a
lot like the NXP parts, but they run at 180MHz rather than 80MHz. More
bang, same buck.

A new product I'm starting to chew on is using the AT91SAM9RL64. 217
pin BGA with 0.8mm pitch. That's not as bad as the one I just wrapped
up with the NXP LPC2880, that was a BGA with 0.5mm pitch. The dang
traces were only 3 thousandths of an inch thick!
