An LFSR gives exactly one pseudo-random bit per iteration.  Take more 
bits out per iteration and you have a nicely autocorrelated sequence 
that is anything but white.  Depending on where you take out the bits 
you always have some exponential impulse components of various lengths 
from essentially the same bit appearing with different power-of-two 
weights in the output at consecutive sample intervals.
