[sdiy] Way OT - Survey - was Who's the oldest?

44 for the moment, but only into DIY for about 2 years now.  I never
would have had the sense to pick up a soldering iron if it weren't for
encouragement from AHMW attendees Tony Clark, Bob Drake, Harry Bissell
and Larry Hendry.

I was drawn in first by Zawinul (Weather Report), Chick Corea
(especially the Mad Hatter album), Jan Hammer and Tomita.  Then by high
school I discovered Yes, Kansas, ELP, etc.  Then came "Golden Age of
Wireless"  :)

At 46.9, my influences were Moog/ELP/Yes/Tomita and 80s synth pop, 
and already locked in before MTV hit. PAiA/Polyphony and Forrest Mims 
were non-musical influences.
