My oldest full diy synth is a Formant from 1978.
But I still have a kind of fuzzbox I built into a Schaller volume pedal. 
The fuzzbox wasn't intended to be one, it should have been a RIAA 
preamp, but finally I found that it sounded better than the fuzz in my 
Yamaha organ so ... this one is from 1975.
