for me (i will be 40 in september) it was just laurie andersons first TV
performance in germany (1983?) that made me wanting a synth and a vocoder
(i bought a cheap DX21 then, lacking the funds for a better synth). i am
in synth DIY for three years now, but that is another story.
i only see a cluster of individuals here on the list. not sure if you'll
be able to deduce any rules from this small survey ;-) funny anyways.
