Isn't that obvious?

We 30-somethings were fed on synths for almost our entire life. Be it
earliest childhood memories of a Moog solo like "Davy's on the road
again", Hot Butter's "Pocorn", ELO ("Here's the news"), or the plethora
of 198x's heavily synth-influenced music starting with "New Wave",
reaching "Synth Pop" (Howard Jones, Erasure), anything Trevor Horn
(including Art of Noise) or Michael Cretu produced, "Italo Disco Pop",
and ending with "Acid House" to be later transformed into techno/trance.

Geez, my schooltime heros were Howard Jones and Jean-Michel Jarre for
their sheer amount of synths and samplers -- while I wasn't able to even
lay my hands on an *affordable* 19" rack and a keyboard for the Elektor
Formant...
